The Handmade Fair

We had a really lovely weekend at The Handmade Fair . The weather was perfect, the company great and we met lots of customers old and new. A favourite at the show were our new super simple bobble hats - we have made some pompoms out of Plump to go with them which were flying out of the tent.
All the samples are available as patterns to make on the website so if you came and were undecided have a look at our projects section now.
We're busy packing for our favourite event of the year, Yarndale which runs next Saturday and Sunday (26th/27th September). I hope we have as much fun there.
Yarn in the City update

We had a lovely start to show season with our day at Yarn in the City Pop-Up Marketplace. The day began with the easiest set-up we have ever had. Allison and Rachel from Yarn in the City had made sure that everything ran incredibly smoothly and we were so grateful!
The Pop-up Marketplace was a new iniative for this year and marked the start of the various yarn crawls around London. The show had about 30 exhibitors, designer spotlights and a lovely cafe which is always a bonus!
We met lots of new friends and plenty of old.. it was lovely to catch up with so many people. Our stand was next to Hannah Bass who creates fabulous tapestry versions of city maps... Triskelion Yarn and Toft with their lovely crocheted menagerie. The perfect corner for us.
It was a great day out.... next up is The Handmade Fair.
Yarn in the City Pop Up Marketplace

It can be tough coming back to work after the exotic breaks that we have had over the summer, but when the first week back includes at day out in Chelsea, things get a little bit easier. We are really excited to be exhibiting at Yarn in the City's pop up marketplace which is at Chelsea Old Town Hall on Saturday 5th September. You can find all the information about the day here
Edinburgh Yarn Festival
Edinburgh Yarn Festival
The Edinburgh Yarn Festival had rave reviews last year and we are tremendously excited to be able to have a stall there this March. The event is brilliantly organised and has lots of fabulous workshops and exhibitors, plus in a lovely city to boot!
We've booked our flights and are looking forward to joining the fun in Edinburgh. The show runs on Friday and Saturday 18th and 19th March and it's well worth planning a visit. Check out the event website for the low down on tickets, classes etc.
Selvedge Artisan Christmas
Selvedge Artisan Christmas
Gorgeous selection of Christmassy offerings from talented artists from across Europe (and us!)
We had a lovely time at the Selvedge Artisan Fair at Chelsea Old Town Hall. Everything about Selvedge magazine is beautiful and beautifully done so we knew what to expect. We met old friends and made lots of new ones - Harriet Elkerton and her mum Pam showing Harriet's stunning porcelain, Amanda and Lesley from Raptround and Goat's hair rugs and runners from Corban especially.

First outing for the Kistie Allsop Handmade Fair in Manchester
There was lots to learn and loads to buy at Kirstie Allsop's Handmade Christmas Fair. Everyting from covering a chair to making a Christmas wreath was covered! We really enjoyed our weekend in hip and happening Manchester! Here we are with two of my sons who helped us home on the train.
Hooking up

Since we closed the shop in January, we have been hooking up with our customers every week at Grounded, which just happens to serve the best coffee in London, every Wednesday morning. We're here with the latest things we've been working on (here is my reworking of Godstone in Plump dk), samples of new yarn and hopefully good conversation :)
It is a great way to keep in touch, get some advice or get hold of some yarn if you would rather not order online. This week Susan is also teaching crochet, which can be booked in advance... just drop us a line.
Other opportunities to hook up coming up are the Knitting and Stitching Show at Olympia which is from 5th to 9th March (we're at stand G87) and then if you are further afield how about Wonderwool in Wales (25th/26th April)?
